Bali contains multitudes — and nowhere is that contrast more vivid than on this full-day combination tour that takes you from river level to volcanic highland in a single day. The Kintamani Jeep & Rafting Tour pairs two of Bali’s signature outdoor adventures — white water rafting on the Ayung River and a 4×4 jeep exploration of the Kintamani highlands — into one seamlessly organised full-day experience with lunch included.
The day begins at the Ayung River, Bali’s longest river and the most popular rafting destination on the island. The two-hour white water section winds through a deep jungle gorge, past waterfalls that drop directly into the river, past ancient stone carvings half-hidden by jungle growth, and through Class II to III rapids that deliver enough white water to get your pulse up without requiring any previous rafting experience. Your rafting guide stands at the stern, calling directions, managing the boat through the bigger drops, and pointing out wildlife along the banks. Safety equipment is provided and the briefing is thorough.
After the river section, showers, changing rooms, and a substantial Indonesian buffet lunch give you time to warm up and recharge before the second half of the day begins. The drive north to Kintamani takes roughly 1.5 hours, climbing through rice terraces, village markets, and the coffee growing highlands of central Bali. The destination is the Kintamani caldera viewpoint — a sweeping panorama of Mount Batur and Lake Batur that appears suddenly as you crest the rim road, the kind of view that makes passengers gasp on first sight.
A local coffee plantation stop follows, with complimentary tasting of Balinese single-origin varieties, ginger tea, cocoa, and — if you wish — Luwak coffee. From there, the tour winds through Tegalalang Rice Terrace for photography before returning to your hotel as evening approaches.
This tour is particularly well suited to groups with mixed interests — those who want water adventure, highland scenery, cultural stops, and a good meal all in one day without planning each element independently. Everything is handled by one team from pickup to drop-off.
